My name is August Oda and I’m a UX Designer based in San Francisco, CA. My main goal in UX is to create aesthetically appealing products that help minimize the minor frustrations in our day-to-day lives. 

I currently work in financial technology as an implementation specialist. Project management and client communication are a few of the transferable skills I’ve acquired in this role. Project management helps me to organize and guide the UX roadmap while promoting collaborative working. Client communication is key in meeting the needs of the stakeholders and clients as well as communicating product timelines. 

Aside from my professional background, I’m naturally a creative person with a knack for problem-solving; I am constantly looking for the most effective, efficient way to do things. I also studied physical geography in my undergraduate degree where I conducted research and practiced analyzing data and presenting findings which have also shown to be important skills in UX design. 

UX Design is an incredible outlet for me to express my creativity while still being analytical through data and research. This balance of problem-solving and creativity is what I love about UX design and keeps me striving to learn and grow in the field.
